Today we look across the spotless straights at snow-covered mountains waiting for the first snow-boarding entries onto the virgin slopes, with halfpiping to sigh for. It's true that there hasn't been a touch of snow in gorgeous Vancouver this winter, but somebody up there must like us because there are many meters of snow in our recreation zones, not just the inches being reported in your jealous newspapers, who never have figured out our metric system. The Russians by the way don't have a chance in hockey but the Swedish men sure do. Already they've been voted best-looking lads in the city. Not so, young man.
