The boys are onto something. This year's playoff games have so far been what can kindly be called defensive struggles when in reality the game is fast from blue line to blue line only to settle into a rugby scrum as soon as the puck gets into the offensive zones. And the thuggery has been the worst in memory with cheap shots becoming the norm. There is nothing more exciting than a Bobby Orr rink length rush which is - alas - a thing of the past.

Doesn't Sarah Palin deserve a mention? Don't forget that she too. like Mitt, was the elected governor of a great state and presumably did an excellent job when in office.

Noah Richler is of course not only the son of the great Mordecai but a worthy heir. Jeff should do some reading instead of brawling non-stop.

Down in the Southern Province we have been hoping for a one on one basketball game of Obama against the moral midget Romney. Seems like a brawl would be better. Maybe Michelle could toss Anne Romney over her two Cadillacs.

Good to heat that Trudeau lives on! Now of we could only bring in Mordecai Richler's son, all would be fine.

We should not be surprised at the hypocrisy between the church's teachings and the actions of its members. One need look no further than its position on climate change (http://catholicclimatecovenant.org/catholic-teachings/vatican-messages/) and what Santorum espouses about it ("I, for one, never bought the hoax"). So, either the church has been deluded by Satan or Santorum is deluded by his personal ideology. Why does he remain part of an organization that is so easily deluded by Satan and why is the press so feeble as to not challenge him on it?

The Republic of Gilead is coming - prepare.

Mr.word Carr is correct BUT it avoids the basic quesrion of whether theactions of ger,any et alia are useful. TodYs ny times features an article about Frau Merkel and Madame Lagard which begins but only begins, to put the picture in place. The europeans must indestand the need to promote the economy or they will founder on the rocks of German obstinance. Merkel is betting on a loser and her pal Christine Lagard can only save her if she wishes to be saved. Or the german people can fk up their economy in ,order to feel morally superior. Not agrand solution. The Greeks should pack up and get out.

Of course Jeff has a point. These hard times in Greece are going to be very hard on the average joe who is willing to roll up his sleeves and work off the debt. But the real moneymakers in Greece are busy making their exit from such responsibilities by moving banks and industry to Macedonia and residences to elsewhere in the EU, as the Greek Minister of Finance pointed out in his plea today.
